First Taiwan-ASEAN Strategic Investment Partnership Forum in Taiwan on July 13- Take Advantage of this opportunity by registering early

To assist Taiwanese companies in gaining a perspective of the ASEAN economies, the Taiwan-ASEAN Strategic Investment Partnership Forum organized by the Department of Investment Service, Ministry of Economic Affairs will be held on July 13, 2016 (9:00 a.m.) at the Taipei International Convention Center Conference Room 201.

Featuring keynote speeches, investment conferences, and product displays, the Forum will assist domestic companies in seizing opportunity and furthering strategic business in ASEAN nations.

   Think tanks, businesses and ASEAN government agencies will be invited to deliver keynote speeches and to discuss about the Taiwan-ASEAN Investment Partnership Relations and Outlook as well as the Opportunities & Challenges: Tapping ASEAN markets. These two main topics will be featured during the morning session.

Meanwhile, the ASEAN investment seminars will be held in the afternoon with the participating ASEAN representatives divided into groups. This event will have simultaneous Chinese-English interpretation.

The ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) was established at the end of 2015. The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) entered into force and was signed by the participants from ASEAN, namely Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Brunei. The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) is expected to conclude its negotiations in 2016.

With the changing investment environment in Mainland China, the rapid economic growth of ASEAN countries, and the rise of the middle class, ASEAN is fast becoming a global factory with massive domestic and regional markets.

Since Taiwan and ASEAN possess advantages in their respective areas of specialization, the Ministry of Economic Affairs is organizing the “Taiwan-ASEAN Strategic Investment Partnership Forum” for the first time to facilitate interaction and cooperation between government bodies, industry associations and unions, and Taiwanese companies, and government officials, industry associations and companies from ASEAN countries.
